Aiken EmployABILITY Job Fair provides employment opportunities

Goodwill’s Aiken Job Connectionsm will provide access to employment opportunities at its third annual EmployABILITY Job Fair set for Thursday, Oct. 29.

Sponsored by Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia and the CSRA, the EmployABILITY Job Fair will be held 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at the Goodwill Aiken campus at 1015 Pine Log Road. A Job Fair Boot Camp to help job-seekers put their best foot forward will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, at the Job Connection.

The Boot Camp and the Job Fair are offered free of charge to job-seekers and employers.

While the job fair recognizes the importance of providing career opportunities to workers with disabilities or barriers to employment, participation is open to all job-seekers.  The job fair is designed to put into action the national theme of 2015’s Disability Employment Awareness month: “My Disability is One Part of Who I Am.”

Employers and community resources participating in the EmployABILITY Job Fair include Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, Chick-fil-A, DayBreak Adult Care Services, Enterprise, The Family Y, McDonalds, Spring-Green Lawn Care, Tri-Development Center, Aiken Warrior Project, Helms College and the Aiken Job Connection.

In the past year, Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia and the CSRA proudly assisted in placing 4,623 people into jobs and offered career development services to more than 24,000 individuals. During the past five calendar years, Goodwill assisted in placing 15,748 individuals in jobs, creating more than $375 million in estimated annual new payroll economic impact for our communities.
