Helms College’s Edgar’s Bistro Reopens for Lunch Service

MACON, GA – Helms College is proud to announce the highly anticipated reopening of its student- and faculty-chef-run restaurant, Edgar’s Bistro, for lunch service beginning February 5th. Edgar’s Bistro, a signature dining experience within the Polly Long Denton School of Hospitality, will welcome guests Wednesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Thursday, March 27.

Diners can expect a fresh, innovative menu featuring guest favorites like Edgar’s Patty Melt alongside exciting student-inspired specials. The seasonal menu highlights a variety of handcrafted dishes, including:

Salads: Roasted Vegetable, Creamy Southwest Kale, House
Sandwiches: Edgar’s Patty Melt, Chicken Pesto Parmesan, Green Machine
Entrées: Alla Vodka, Duck Pinsa, Harissa Chicken Bowl
Desserts: Chocolate Thunder Cake, Cranberry Orange Custard Pie

This reopening comes on the heels of a major achievement for Helms College — the Polly Long Denton School of Hospitality’s culinary program was recently ranked among the top 10 culinary programs in the nation by Niche.com, solidifying its reputation as a premier institution for hands-on hospitality and culinary education.

“Edgar’s Bistro is more than just a restaurant—it’s a dynamic learning environment where our students gain real-world experience under the guidance of industry-experienced faculty,” said Kris Furtaw, Senior Vice President of Education Operations. “With our recent national recognition, we are more excited than ever to showcase the talents of our students and bring the community an exceptional dining experience.”
